Cambodia(Siem Reap) day 1

Soa S'day (Hello) everyone. Today is my first day in Cambodia. Our hotel is so nice and tropical looking. Sorry for not blogging for so long, but I was really busy with my sister's wedding activities. The wedding was pretty lively and really colorful. It was a traditional Hindu wedding and was so beautiful! The wedding ceremony was about 2 hours long and included a luncheon. After that we had a few hours before the reception. During that time we went swimming in Le Meridian's(our hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which was so nice) pool. The pool looks tropical, but not as tropical as our new hotel. After that we went to the reception at the Lake Club. It was really nice. Yesterday we went to a Butterfly Garden. There were so many butterflies that were all so pretty. After you walk through the outside part of the garden you go inside to a insect museum which I thought was kinda creepy. There were many dead and deadly creatures behind glass. There were also a few live scorpions and tarantulas in tanks! After that we went back to the hotel and had our last dinner in Kuala Lumpur. Today we woke up at 3:30am KL(Kuala Lumpur) to head to the airport. We are now in our hotel room about to go explore Siem Reap. Talk to you later,

Kuala Lumpur Day 2

Hey,
We just got back from dinner with my in-laws. The dinner was traditional Malay food served at a private club in Kuala Lumpur. It was a family get-together before my sister Katie's Hindu wedding ceromony. This is her second wedding ( and no she didn't didn't get divorced!) and the wedding is the reason for this trip. She had a wedding in the U.S in November, but her husband Guhan is Indian and his family lives in Kuala Lumpur so they wanted to have a ceremony over here. The wedding activities are over three days and have many steps to it. We recently got our traditional wedding outfits. Mine is a green shirt and skirt with gold designs and outlining. It is really nice.

Last Day in Hong Kong

Kung Hei Fat Choy! Today is Chinese New Year and it is the year of the dragon. Last year was the year of the rabbit. We spent last night watching the Chinese New Year Night Parade. It was very cool and had many bright and colorful and performers and dancers. We were lucky because we did a Hong Kong Island Tour which included dinner and reserved seats for the parade.

The tour, guided a nice lady named Luna, included a tram ride to Victoria Peak above Hong Kong Island and the Harbour. The tram is the steepest in the world, is over 133 years old, and extremely safe although you are leaning so far that it looks like the buildings you pass are at a 45 degree angle. Once on top, you can look over the Harbour, and the islands. Yesterday, we also saw Jackie Chan's house. For any fans, his address in Hong Kong is 99 Repulse Bay, Hong Kong, China. He has a very nice house which looks like a palace.

After seeing Mr. Chan's house, we went to an Aberdeen Fishing Village. By the way, Jackie has a big black boat with a gray cover that is docked next to the fishing village.

We took a ride on a sampan to visit the fishing village. The sampan is a wooden, Chinese boat with a roof. The people of the fishing village live on the boats all of the time, and some never get off. Luna told us that some get married on the boats by stringing a few together and don't bother getting a dress. I think these ladies are missing out big time!

I have a lot more to blog about but we have to get on a flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Hong Kong day 1

Hey guys, today at 5:00am US time(6:00pm Hong Kong time) we landed at Hong Kong Int'l Airport after a 15 hour flight from JFK. We flew on Cathay Pacific Airline, which was very nice. Even though it was a long flight, it went by quickly because I was reading(Social Studies homework), watching movies, and sleeping. The food was pretty good, too. To get to our hotel we took a fast train from the airport to the city.

Hong Kong is a big city and reminds me of New York especially time square because there are so many lights. Tonight, we had dinner at a Chinese Noodle House and then had frozen yogurt. It's 10:20 pm here and now we are going back to the hotel

Introduction

Hi guys. My name is CC. I am nine years old. In a few days my family and I leave for South- East Asia. Some people have told me this is a trip of a lifetime, but I hope I do much more traveling in my future. I will be writing to you at least twice a week starting on Saturday the 21st, my first day in Hong Kong, just in time for Chinese New Year!!!
